Twitter Following Thoughts
By Warren Contreras
I assume most people on this website have a website of their own they want to promote, right? Unless you have been hiding under a rock, you have probably heard about Twitter and the massive traffic stream it potentially provides. There are dozens of applications released to bring more followers to your stream, but ask yourself how valuable that is when they are mostly just trying to get more followers themselves and not really interested in what you have to say? I started out that way myself, but quickly realized that there are better methods to find REAL followers and start cultivating genuine relationships that can be mutually beneficial. It changed my evaluation of Twitter almost overnight and now I realize how powerful it can be. I think a large part of my revelation was due to connecting my Twitter profile to my blog with a clickable link. Then I feature Twitter on my blog page and the cycle contributes to both pages no matter which one they find first. So please don't jump to conclusions about Twitter being a waste of bandwidth until you give it a sincere trial. Too many people condemn a good thing just because they have never figured out how to use it. It reminds me of the old farmer that brought a newly purchased chainsaw back because cutting wood with it was more work than before. When the mechanic took it in the back room to see what was wrong, the farmer came rushing in when he started it up yelling, "What the heck is all that noise". Obviously it changed his complete image of chainsaws after that. See you all online!
Warren Contreras is just an old retired guy that spends time learning how to make extra money online and after 10 years is getting pretty good at it.

Very nice Warren! To tell the truth, I never liked Twitter, it is too "narrow" and too fuzzy so I have it sync with facebook and blog. Nice worded Intel. Merry Christmas!
Being a newbie and not sure how to do it,I haven't gone the twitter route yet. Thanks for your insite, I'll be giving it a try. Frederick
Sounds like an excellent TWITTER tip. I've been there for a year and done almost nothing with it. I get so overwhelmed by all the mundane Tweeting going on...may have to follow your advice though. I need all the tips I can get there.
I am back and forth on Twitter. I'm fussy about whom I follow because it's already to hard to find the gems among all the noise. If in doubt, I give people a chance to show they are worth following. Sometimes I have time to tweet and sometimes I don't. I don't tweet just to tweet, and I try to maintain a balance between promotion and retweeting or responding to others. I have made some connections on Twitter that seem worth while.
